I have strong opinions on this. I tend not to buy beauty products eg make up, shampoo, shower gel etc etc which have been tested on animals, as I don't think its necessary, they're not vital products for us, so we don't need to do that kind of thing.
However, I do agree with testing on animals of medicines and drugs. It is so important that we combat diseases such as cancer, as they have such a horrible effect on people's lives. A couple of years ago there was a case where some people were disabled by taking part in a drug trial because it caused horrendous side effects - if we didn't test on animals that would happen more and more. Obviously its not a perfect system, as animals are different from humans! But if it goes towards making a cure for cancer, or for AIDs or any of those kind of diseases, I'm all for it.
