Writer's Block: Let's stay friends

Yes I do - well I would like to. As they have mainly been the ones splitting up with me (well, 2 out of 3 have been!) I am perfectly willing to stay friends with them, though sadly it doesn't seem to work out that way. One of them doesn't live in the same county as me anymore, and seems to have not wanted to stay in touch with his old friends, and one other seems to be perfectly friendly and pleasant to me on his own, but when he's with one of his other friends (who I don't like - for various reasons, nothing to do with our breakup though) he much prefers to talk to her rather than me. I almost feel like to stay friends with him I have to now like this girl, which is silly really, I can like and dislike whoever I like, it shouldn't be for other people to decide that. Its a shame though, as he is a nice guy really, just friends with one questionable person.
The other guy I went out with I split up with him, felt incredibly guilty, and then it went into a good friends relationship, which was really nice. However he's now also not living in the same county as me, which means that I don't see him much.
Maybe I live in the past too much, but I like to keep in touch with old friends, especially those who I still have things in common with (as I do with all my old boyfriends) and who meant/mean a lot to me. Others don't seem to think that at all though, which is sad.
