The Secret Garden (1993)
This is a really lovely film! One of my favourite stories, about a girl, Mary, whose parents die in India and so she travels to England to live with her uncle and cousin, Colin, in Yorkshire. Her uncle is often away, and her cousin is ill, so she is left to her own devices and finds a "secret garden", which belonged to her aunt and was locked up 10 years ago when she died when Colin was born. With the help of a local boy Dickon, they tend the garden and it changes the whole household and her cousin and uncle's lives.
The scenery is amazing (its set in the Yorkshire Moors) and the characters are all really well done so you really care about them! :) Its one of the films that I used to watch as a child, and I love it still. The way the changes come about to Mary, Colin and eveyone around them makes it a lovely story.
Overall I give it 8/10 :)
This has been compared to The Little Princess - I also really love this book, but have only seen the film 1 1/2 times (despite owning it on video and now on DVD!) as it is just so sad I couldn't bear to watch it! But I think I might have to now :)
So today has been a definate "snow day" for me! At first I wasn't sure if I was going into work, so I got up at normal time, but I rang in and the manager said not to come in. Which is good as I've had a lovely day, haha. Went out for a walk with my family from about 11am to 1pm, that was great (apart from all the big dogs walking around :( No small ones as they must get buried in the snow, its so deep!) and we threw lots of snowballs and took lots of pictures:

And now I'm writing this, and then will probably read my book for a couple of hours and then maybe watch a film...all good! :)
