My favourite when I was younger was Michael Jackson, and yes I still enjoy his songs now. Although I don't have his more recent album (Invincible I think its called?) Dangerous was the first album I ever owned, and HIStory was the first album I got when I totally got into the music, so I love those two most of all. I was *so* sad when he died - I cried and I'm not ashamed to admit it! What made it worse was that I had tickets to see him, and now I will never get to! :( When I was 11 quite a few people I know went to see him, but I didn't go to gigs back then, so I didn't go. I do remember my mum waking me up to watch the 9pm news as it had a bit about when Michael Jackson arrived in London for that gig.
Even though its not my favourite style of music, I still really like his songs, and they have such good memories for me. And quite sad ones - we sang "You Are Not Alone" at our leaving assembly when we left primary school, so it always makes me a bit sad when I hear it!

Date: 2010-09-20 03:31 pm (UTC)I also had tickets to see him at the O2 and was gutted that I never had the chance to see him. I always wanted to see him when I was younger, but either couldn't afford to do so, or the shows sold out very quickly.
