spooky_missBook Forty Nine - The Average American Male by Chad Kultgen
I admit - I had read nothing about this book before I read it, if I had then I probably wouldn't have read it, but I am willing to give any book a go, and considering that this was a free book which came with The Times a few weeks ago, and the books they give free are usually quite good I was expecting it to be not too bad, at least.
However. I have never read such a poor excuse for a novel ever!! I have no idea how this got published, and let alone why it has a four star rating on Amazon!
it is about a man, who is going out with a girl, and all he worries / talks about is the next time he's going to have sex with her, how he's previously had sex with her, all the other girls he wants to have sex with, and how he might be able to do this without her finding out. Its basically "Casey came round tonight. We *insert graphic description of them having sex*. Then she went home.", and then he dumps her and gets another girlfriend, and the same happens.
Maybe I am just being a prude - but although I do not object to a good sex scene at the right place and time, it helps if the rest of the book has some kind of plot, point, or merit to it. This book reads more like a porn film script (or maybe an audio description transcript of one...) than a novel. And if all men are like this - I might as well consign myself to a life of single-ness for all time! I would never want someone so self centred, one-track-minded and immature.
I just can't get over how bad this book is.I *hate* to throw books away, but I have to do it with this one, I just can't let anyone else read such rubbish!
Oh and obviously - 0 / 10 !!
