well...I know she had an illness, but she just seems very selfish, and especially uncaring towards her children, and to me theres no excuse for that. I know Ted Hughes wasn't the nicest man in the world, but she should have thought of her children. I think my opinion might be a bit influenced by a film I saw - can't remember what it was called but it had Daniel Craig as Ted Hughes I think, and it made them both seem like really horrible people (although I think their children didn't like the film due to how it portrayed them), but I don't think it comes across as much in Ted Hughes' work as it does in hers.

Ah yes I know I should read Allen Ginsburg - I don't think I will like it, as I don't like that style no, but I will try, just so I know if I like it or not, hehe! :)
